New CPTED Ordinance Added: Dyersburg, Tennessee

The US CPTED Association is pleased to announce the addition of a new CPTED ordinance from Dyersburg, Tennessee to our growing CPTED Codes & Ordinances Database.
This ordinance was recently submitted by USCA member Bryan Collins, and we would like to extend our sincere appreciation for helping us expand this national resource. Member contributions like Bryan’s play an important role in helping us identify and document CPTED-related policies, ordinances, regulations, and development standards from communities across the country.
As communities continue to recognize the value of Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED), local ordinances and development standards are becoming increasingly important tools for creating safer and more resilient neighborhoods. CPTED principles focus on reducing opportunities for crime through thoughtful design, natural surveillance, access control, territorial reinforcement, and ongoing maintenance of the built environment.
The addition of Dyersburg’s ordinance provides practitioners, planners, law enforcement professionals, architects, developers, and community leaders with another real-world example of how CPTED concepts are being incorporated into municipal policy. Each new entry strengthens the database and helps demonstrate the growing adoption of CPTED throughout the United States.
The US CPTED Association remains committed to building the most comprehensive collection of CPTED-related codes, ordinances, policies, and regulations available. By sharing examples from communities nationwide, we hope to provide valuable resources for those looking to implement CPTED principles in their own jurisdictions.
Thank you again to Bryan Collins for taking the time to submit this ordinance and support the advancement of CPTED.
