USCA National Guidelines

U.S. CPTED Association National CPTED Design Guidelines

The U.S. CPTED Association National CPTED Design Guidelines provide a unified, national framework for applying Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) in the planning, design, and long term management of the built environment. Built around the four core CPTED principles Natural Surveillance, Natural Access Control, Territorial Reinforcement, and Maintenance these Guidelines translate proven concepts into practical strategies that can be used in any setting, from neighborhoods and schools to commercial districts, parks, parking areas, and event sites. Created as an advisory resource, the Guidelines are designed to support consistent, real world implementation today, while also serving as the foundation for future U.S. CPTED Design Standards through a formal consensus process.
