November 2025 Webinar Recap: CPTED for Parks
On November 13, 2025, the US CPTED Association hosted its November webinar titled “Combining CPTED, Physical Security, and Counterterrorism: How Public and Private Sectors are Strengthening Public Safety.” The session brought together over four hundred professionals from across the country to explore how CPTED connects design, security, and modern threat prevention.
The webinar featured Art Hushen, Founder and Lead Instructor of The NICP; Greg Sanfilippo, Doyle Security Services and Retired Sergeant with the NYPD Counterterrorism Division; and Gregg Pingitore, Detective with the NYPD Counterterrorism Division. Together, they shared their combined experience from law enforcement, education, and private-sector security, focusing on how CPTED strategies are being applied in real-world environments such as counterterrorism operations, facility design, and corporate security planning.
The session highlighted how CPTED continues to evolve alongside technology, intelligence, and operational planning. Whether through improved visibility, digital surveillance, or thoughtful site design, the presenters reinforced how small design choices can make a major difference in safety and community trust.
We encourage everyone to review the PowerPoint presentations from this webinar, to explore the ideas and strategies shared during the session. The November webinar reinforced a simple truth: when design, security, and community come together, safer spaces naturally follow. CPTED continues to be one of the most practical and forward-thinking approaches to crime prevention, adaptable, proven, and grounded in real experience.
