Welcome to the US CPTED Association Awards submission page. Below you will find details for submitting nominations for Practitioner of the Year ,Project of the Year, and Organization of the Year awards. These awards recognize outstanding contributions to the field of Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED). We invite you to submit your nomination by December 1, 2024, at 11:00 pm EST.

Practitioner of the Year Award

***Winner: 1 Seat to the 2025 US CPTED Conference***

The Practitioner of the Year award acknowledges an individual who has demonstrated exceptional commitment and impact in applying CPTED principles.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Impact and Innovation: Significant contributions to improving community safety through innovative CPTED applications.
  • Leadership and Advocacy: Leadership in promoting CPTED, including public education and policy development.
  • Professional Development: Dedication to advancing CPTED knowledge through training and mentoring others.

Nomination Process:

To nominate someone for Practitioner of the Year, please complete the form below. You will need to submit the following details:

  • Nominee Information: Full Name, Title, Organization, Email, Phone
  • Nominator Information: Full Name, Title, Organization, Email, Phone, Relationship to Nominee
  • Nomination Letter: A letter (max 1 page) detailing the nominee’s contributions and impact in CPTED
  • Letters of Support: At least one letter (max 1 page) from a colleague or community member supporting the nominee’s achievements
  • Additional Documentation: Optional, up to 5 pages of documentation such as photos or assessments
  • Nominee’s Personal Statement: A 500-word statement from the nominee discussing their CPTED contributions, leadership, and professional development

    Project of the Year Award

    The Project of the Year award recognizes an outstanding project that has effectively incorporated CPTED principles.

    Eligibility Criteria:

    • Project Phases: Significant phases of the project must have been completed in the last three years.
    • CPTED Principles: The project must clearly demonstrate the application of CPTED principles.

    Nomination Process:

    To nominate a project for Project of the Year, please complete the form below with the following details:

    • Project Information: Project Name, Location, Completion Date or Phases Completed, Project Lead’s Contact Information
    • Nominator Information (if different from Project Lead): Full Name, Title, Organization, Email, Phone, Relationship to Project
    • Nomination Statement: A nomination statement (max 1 page) explaining the project’s objectives and significance in relation to CPTED principles
    • Project Summary: A project summary (max 1 page) detailing CPTED incorporation and the project’s impact, including statistics and photo documentation

      The Organization of the Year award honors an organization that has demonstrated significant contributions to the field of CPTED through innovative practices, effective implementation, and community impact.

      Eligibility Criteria:

      • Demonstrated Impact: Significant contributions to improving community safety through CPTED innovations.
      • Leadership and Advocacy: Leadership in promoting CPTED, including public education, policy development, and advocacy.
      • Professional Development: Dedication to advancing CPTED knowledge within the organization through training and workshops.
      • Community Engagement: Success in fostering collaboration with community members and stakeholders.
